(a) A planet is a celestial body that orbits a star and does not generate its own light, while a star is a massive, luminous sphere of gas that generates light and heat through nuclear fusion.
(b) The 'Solar System' refers to the Sun and all the celestial objects that are bound to it by gravity, including planets, moons, asteroids, comets, and other objects.
(c) The planets in order of their distance from the Sun are: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune.
(d) Earth is called a unique planet because it is the only known planet to support life, with the right conditions of liquid water, an atmosphere, and a suitable climate.
(e) We always see only one side of the Moon because it is tidally locked with Earth, meaning its rotation period is the same as its orbit around Earth.
